* Notice *

The Water Master Adjustable Floating Strainer is no longer available.

Southern Fire Equipment, LLC has received legal notice that the Water Master Adjustable Floating Strainer may have design features of which Mr. Larry Reber of Reberland Equipment. Inc. has been issued a U.S. Patent.

We are testing an exciting new strainer design that will be offered with future Water Master™ sales instead of the one in question.

More later ...

When we developed the Water Master Fire Service Vacuum Tanker™, we never imagined how quickly it would fill itself. However, as fast as it was filling, we soon learned that the suction hose strainer was hindering the Water Master's™ performance. We tried all of the strainers that we could find and searched for more--all of them caused a restriction and a longer fill time.

As we continued to ponder the problem, a fire department located in the mountains of North Carolina purchased two Water Masters™. This department needed a special strainer for their mountain streams. We talked and our engineers drew some plans, fabricated a prototype low-level floating strainer then shipped it to North Carolina for testing.

We thought that we had the problem solved but the prototype strainer performed poorly in their streams.

The fire department offered to help us out and sent drawings of how they thought it should be done. Well ... we went back to the drawing board and re-designed the strainer to include an adjustable bottom pan. The adjustable pan allows the strainer to be effective in both shallow and deep water by adjusting the size of the bottom opening.

The Water Master™ adjustable level floating strainer was designed to perform and perform it does. No other strainer can match the broad spectrum of situations that the Water Master™ strainer will cover. Whether you are drafting water from a lake, portable folding tank or a roadside ditch, the Water Master™ Adjustable Level Strainer will help provide more water for your firefighting needs.

As with the Water Master Fire Service Vacuum Tanker™, firefighters have developed equipment and procedures for firefighters.

Water Master™ Strainer in the shallow setting

The photo above shows the Water Master™ Strainer in the lowest setting. This setting will restrict the overall GPM flow but allows filling operations from shallow water sources. See the photo below.

Water Master™ strainer in mountian stream

Here is the strainer working in one of the North Carolina streams that I mentioned above. Notice how the water is being drawn into the strainer--along with a lot of air. The Water Master™ will not lose its prime like conventional tankers with centrifugal pumps. We started out with about four inches of water but soon almost stopped the streams flow.

Water Master™ at the high setting

The photo above shows the Water Master™ strainer with a Storz coupling and at its highest setting. There is also a middle setting.

Water Master™ in deep water

No water supply problems here! In our tests, the Water Master™ strainer actually out performed a six-inch suction hose with no strainer attached!

NOT FOR SALE as of September 27, 2005!
